Frequently Asked Questions

HOW DOES PRICING WORK?

The Wacks Law Group does most of its planning on a flat fee basis. Litigation and other legal work are done on an hourly basis. Schedule a consultation for more information about your case.

CAN I DO MY OWN ESTATE PLANNING?

If you’re using online legal services, you’re more likely to miss essential details related to the legal process. If your online legal service does not cover everything, you could find yourself without the proper documentation you need moving forward. By the time you reach out to an attorney, it will cost much more to fix any errors or missteps.

Avoid holes in your estate planning and other potentially expensive mistakes. Contact The Wacks Law Group.

CAN I GET HELP WITH MY MEDICAID APPLICATION?

Yes. The Wacks Law Group assists individuals in preparing and filing Medicaid applications for long-term care services, including representing individuals in Fair Hearings. We also assist in understanding entitlement to various other governmental benefits.

WILL I BE ABLE TO REACH THE WACKS LAW GROUP OUTSIDE OF REGULAR HOURS?

The Wacks Law Group is reachable outside of office hours for emergencies and other urgent needs or by appointment. Please contact The Wacks Law Group directly for more information.

IN WHICH STATES IN THE U.S. DOES THE WACKS LAW GROUP PRACTICE?

Our attorneys practice in New Jersey and New York.

I ALREADY HAVE A LAST WILL & TESTAMENT, SO THAT COVERS EVERYTHING I NEED, CORRECT?

You may be surprised to know that having a will does not guarantee a plan of distribution for the entirety of your estate. Certain assets, called non-probate assets, do not pass under the terms of your will. Additionally, there are other important documents, like a Power of Attorney and Healthcare Proxy, that provide protection in the event of incapacity. If you’re unsure about the legal plan of your estate, contact The Wacks Law Group today to avoid future confusion and potential litigation.

How do I schedule an appointment?

Scheduling an appointment is easy. Call our direct line or send us a message with your contact information. You can even use our online Booking Service: HERE. One of our attorneys will contact you as soon as possible to discuss your legal needs.

Where are your offices located?

We have two convenient locations. Our main office is located in Whippany, and we have a second office in New York City.

How much will the work cost me?

After we meet to discuss your situation, we will offer an estimate for how much our services will cost. This estimate will either be a fixed fee or based upon the number of hours we estimate it will take to complete the work. A retainer will be requested as part of the process of engaging our firm. The final fee will be dependent upon the complexity of your case.

How much is your consultation fee?

We offer discounted consultations to help you decide whether or not we are a good fit for your legal needs.

What happens during the initial consultation?

During the consultation, we will get to know one another, answer any questions you have about the legal process, and discuss your goals and how we can help you achieve them. We will also go over the fee structure and general timeline for your matter.

What do I need to bring during my initial consultation?

Please bring all relevant documents that might help us understand the issues. We will also ask you to fill out a simple questionnaire to help us understand your legal needs.
