Income Tax Declarations & Payment
All persons and legal entities who receive income from a Greek source are required to file a yearly tax declaration with the Greek Tax Authorities (known as «Δημόσιες Οικονομικές Υπηρεσίες» or «Δ.Ο.Υ.»).
These are some examples of applicable income sources: pensions, salary, bank interest, dividends, and rental Income from properties located in Greece. In some cases, vehicles, non-income-producing properties, and non-interest-bearing accounts must also be declared.
Since declaration requirements differ, Taxpayers should discuss their specific tax declaration obligations with qualified Greek accountants.
Declarations for income accrued in 2022 must be submitted by June 30, 2023.
The first installment of eight (8) monthly payments is due by July 31, 2023.
Taxpayers benefit from a 3% deduction if the entire amount owed is paid by July 31, 2023.
Real Estate Tax Declarations & Payment
All persons and legal entities who own an interest in property located in Greece must submit a Real Estate Tax Declaration (known as “E9 form”).
These are some examples of applicable interest in property: life estate (known as «επικαρπία»), remainder interest (known as «ψιλή κυριότητα»), joint interest («εξ’αδιαρέτου»), easements («δουλεία διόδου»).
Real estate tax bills are issued based on the E9 form information provided by the Taxpayer. The bill and resulting real estate tax payments are referred to as “ENFIA” or “ΕΝΦΙΑ”.
Real Estate Tax bills for 2022 will be issued by the end of May 2023.
The first installment of ten (10) monthly payments must be made by May 31, 2023.
Taxpayers benefit from a 3% deduction if the entire amount owed is paid by May 31, 2023.
